          His Holiness is keenly interested in restoring to the right path of Piety and Dharma the Indians who, under the spell of western influences are disinclined to observe Sanatana Dharma[Pending link]. It is for this purpose that His holiness is travelling all over India and propogating the message of  Sanatana Dharma[Pending link] and awakening the people to follow the righteous path of Dharma.
          His holiness is of the feeling that Sanatana Dharma is the berath of India and Vedas, Vedanta, Smrutie, Sastras etc. are the pillares of Dharma The preservation of Dharma has been going on since ancient times through  study, teaching, practice and  propogationof Vedas and Shastras. But in course of time this tradition has been diluted, and its is feared may even perish if the trend continues. So, it is our responsibility to revive this tradition and see the resurgence of the Vedic age.
        In the past, erudite scholars aquired their knowledge through royal patronage. Since rich tradition will only survive if impetus, co-operation, patronage is extended to scholars, who help to preserve the Vedic and Shastric study, Various scheme have been outlined, to honour scholars from different parts of India.
